11 Days Namibia Self-drive road trip safari
The 11 days self drive Namibia, which starts & ends in Windhoek takes you on a road trip safari through Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland, Etosha South, and Etosha East.
Safari Highlights:
The Namib Desert extends from the southern region along the Namibian coastline for more than 1,500 kilometers and reaches 200 kilometers inland. It’s truly remarkable. The only coastal desert in the world and the oldest one as well. From the towering sand dunes of Sossusvlei, among the highest in the world, to the chilly Atlantic Ocean and the charming resort town of Swakopmund. Damaraland stands out as one of the most picturesque areas in Namibia, renowned for its desert-adapted elephants. Indeed, a Namibian holiday would be incomplete without the thrill of encountering big game. A safari in Etosha National Park unfolds against the backdrop of the vast, stark white pan, so expansive that it can be seen from space.

Drive south to the Namib Desert for the upcoming two nights. The drive lasts approximately five hours, and although that might seem like a lengthy time to spend traveling, it offers a picturesque route.
Before you head south, make sure to stop at a fuel station or shop if you need any supplies, snacks, or drinks for the journey. The journey in Namibia is truly captivating, offering a wealth of sights to explore along the way.
While you’re there, be sure to explore the key attractions within the park. Arrive at the park as the Sesriem gates open with the first light of dawn. The sooner, the better. Please ensure to pay your entry fee at the office as you exit. The initial segment covers 60km on a paved road leading to the parking area. You can choose to walk the final 5km through thick sand, drive your own vehicle (4WD is recommended), or opt for a shuttle service (additional fees will apply). Visit Dead Vlei first. A brief ascent of the dunes unveils the stunning sight of a fractured white pan adorned with ancient trees that are 900 years old. In the dim light before dawn, you’ll capture the ideal image with the red sand of the dunes as your backdrop. Next, head to Sossusvlei and either ascend Big Daddy or tackle Dune 45. As you leave, take the opportunity to explore Sesriem Canyon. It is becoming quite warm now. If the heat becomes excessive, as it frequently does, consider returning in the afternoon for additional options.
Your lodge will provide guided excursions. Feel free to participate if you would rather not venture out by yourself. Grab a breakfast pack and savor it amidst the dunes. Strolling through nature and driving as the sun sets. Absorb everything around you. Make sure to carve out some time to unwind by the pool as well. Magnificent.
