This two-day Uganda gorilla trip departing from Kigali is intended for travelers who want to take the shorter way to Bwindi from Kigali Rwanda rather than the nine-hour journey from Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport. The safari begins and ends in Kigali, Rwanda, travel to Bwindi via the Katuna border, then to Uganda’s picturesque Kigezi highlands, and lastly to Ruhija in Bwindi. You will do gorilla trekking in Bwindi, as well as driving through the beautiful hills of Uganda and Rwanda
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your accommodation and briefed about this excursion. Before traveling to Uganda, you will have the chance to discover Kigali and major locations such as genocide war memorial centers. After exploring the city, you’ll take a four-hour drive to Bwindi via the Katuna Uganda-Rwanda border. After Katuna, you will travel to Ruhija in Bwindi. This journey will allow you to experience the lovely scenery and landscapes of Rwanda and Uganda. Rwanda has beautiful rolling hills and plantations, whilst Uganda has dense green forest surrounding Bwindi.
You will check in the lodge for dinner and overnight stay
Meet the driver for a trip to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and standards after an early breakfast. Following the briefing, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek, you will begin the trek in the jungle with an expert park guide. Because gorillas wander about in search of food, gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours. When the mountain gorillas are discovered, you are permitted to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat to learn more about their behavior and habits, observe them feeding, breastfeeding, and grooming young ones, snap photos, and record the moments to show people back home after the safari.
You will return to the starting location after an hour with the gorillas, where you will be given a certificate for your participation in gorilla trekking, and then you will head to your hotel for some leisure time.
In the late afternoon, return to Kigali Rwanda via Katuna or Chanika border crossing for an overnight stay in Kigali town or be dropped off at the international airport departure flight depending on the timing of your trip back home. Bringing this brief gorilla trekking expedition to a close

Bwindi is located in Uganda’s southwest province, near the rift valley’s edge. The impenetrable forest, also known as Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, is surrounded by Rwanda. It has a total area of 331 square kilometers but is also located in the highest regions of the Kigezi hills at an elevation of 1,190 to 2,607 meters above ground, with 60% of this mystical park over 2,000 meters. The highest point in the park is Rwamunyonyi hill on the park’s eastern side, while the lowest point is near the park’s northern end.
Bwindi is located around 540 kilometers from Kampala, right on the western rift valley’s edge, and is mostly accessible by road. It is situated in the districts of Kabale, Kanungu, and Kisoro in Uganda. The ancient woodland is surrounded by heavily produced agricultural fields that were once tropical forests
