Day 1: Arrival and pick up from the airport including a city tour

Upon your arrival at the airport, our guide will meet up with you, welcome and brief you about the 10 Days Gorillas, chimpanzees, and Wildlife Safari. Depending on the time of your arrival, our guide will drive you to Kigali for a city excursion where you will pay a visit to the genocide memorial site where over 250000 people were interred in 1994. After the city tour, you will then proceed to the lodge where you’ll check in, have dinner, and overnight rest.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park and a Canopy walk/stroll
The highlight of the day
After having an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Nyungwe Forest National Park which is a journey of 219 kilometers approximately a 4 to 5-hour drive. During the journey, you will enjoy lovely views of the hills as you head to the park. Upon arrival at the park, you will check in at the lodge, have lunch and proceed for a canopy walk along a 50-meter lengthy suspended bridge. During the canopy walk, you will see the beauty filled within the forest, some primates such as golden monkeys, and other bird species like Kungwe Apaliser, Shelley crimson wing, Grauer’s Warbl among others. You will then return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park

On the third day of this safari, you will be served a morning breakfast then proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing ahead of your chimp trek. You will be assigned a park guide who will assist and answer all your concerns as you participate in the trekking activity. During the chimpanzee trekking adventure, you will spot the chimps jumping from one tree to another with chatter and giggle sounds, you will also view some unique primates such as Angola monkeys, Red tailed monkeys, velvet monkeys, and other wildlife species. After the engaging trek, you will return to the lodge, have a delicious dinner, and an overnight rest

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes national park and a visit to ibyiwachu village

You will have an early morning breakfast and embark on a journey of 270 kilometers to Volcanoes national park which is about a 4-to-5-hour drive. Upon arrival to the park, you will check in at the lodge, have a relaxing lunch, and be driven to ibyiwachu village for a thrilling cultural experience of the Rwandan culture where you will also understand the way of life of the Rwanda people. you will then return to the lodge, have dinner and an overnight rest
Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park

On day 5, you will wake up and have an early morning breakfast ahead of your gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes national park. You will then have an orientation by the Rwanda Development Board officials at the park headquarters and thereafter begin your gorilla trekking activity. The well-trained park rangers will guide you deeper into the forest along the rugged terrains on the lookout for the gorillas until you encounter them. You will not only encounter gorillas but also other wildlife species like primates and various bird species that you can photograph in order to spice up your experience within the park. You’ll later return to your lodge for dinner and a night’s stay. This is the highlight of my 10-day safari adventure.
Day 6: Golden Monkey trekking in volcanoes national park

Today, you will wake up and enjoy a relaxing breakfast before embarking on an exciting golden monkey trek. These monkeys have golden backs and cheeks and are a type of blue monkey. They live near bamboo trees, which protects them from predators such as eagles. Along the way, you may spot other primates and birds like Kungwe Apaliser, Shelley’s crimson wing, and Grauer’s Warbl. After the trek, you can return to your lodge and spend the remainder of the day at leisure until dinner and a good night’s rest.
Day 7: Hiking Mountain Bisoke

You will wake up, have breakfast, and set out for a long day hike on Mount Bisoke. Mount Bisoke stands at a height of 3,711 meters and is among the active volcanoes found within the Virunga ranges of mountains. the mountain has two crater lakes with one found at the top and the other midway though swimming is prohibited. The hiking activity will offer you a chance to see the forest from above as you also encounter mountain gorillas along the hike. After hiking the mountain, you shall return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and rest.
Day 8: Transfer to Akagera National Park and an Afternoon Game Drive

On the eighth day of your Rwanda safari, you will have an early morning breakfast and embark on a journey of 213 kilometers for a transfer to Akagera National Park. During the 4-to-5-hour drive journey, you will enjoy views of the country’s beauty including the way of life of the people. You will then arrive at the park and proceed for an afternoon game drive where you will be able to see numerous wildlife animals such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, various Antelope species like topis, oribis waterbuck, roan antelope, klipspringer among others. After the game drive, you shall return to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 9: Morning game drive and Boat ride/cruise on Lake Ihema

You will wake up early and have breakfast before embarking on a morning game drive to spot wildlife. This drive will give you a chance to spot animals you may have missed on previous drives. Following the game drive, you can relax and enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge. After lunch, you can take a leisurely boat ride on Lake Ihema. During this ride, you’ll have an opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species. You’ll also get to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding areas, hills, and swamps. Finally, you’ll head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 10: Transfer to the airport for departure

Your tenth day on safari will begin with an early morning breakfast before checking out of the lodge. Our guide will then transfer you to Kigali city for your departure.
