Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the hotel

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park

Commence your journey to Murchison Falls National Park immediately following an early breakfast. Appreciate the picturesque landscapes of Uganda throughout the journey, along with the vibrant roadside markets. Visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to gain insights into the conservation efforts dedicated to rhinos at this facility. Following this experience, make your way to the park and visit the top of the falls, time permitting, before heading to your lodge for the evening.

Day 3: Game Drives and Boat Safari on the Nile

Murchison Falls National Park is the largest park in Uganda, providing exceptional opportunities for game viewing. Commence your experience with a game drive along the Northern bank of the River Nile. Observe the various animals and birds in their natural environment. While on the game drive, be attentive to the presence of bush bucks, water bucks, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, hartebeest, leopards, Uganda kobs, and various bird species.

In the afternoon, participate in a leisurely boat ride. Be attentive to animals approaching the water, as well as those that are resident or semi-resident, such as hippos, crocodiles, and monitor lizards.

Day 4: Lake Albert and Community Engagement

Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Community

Following breakfast, proceed for the chimpanzee trekking activity. Chimpanzees share 98.7% of human DNA and are recognized as our closest relatives. The expedition commences with an informative briefing led by your ranger guide regarding the chimpanzee trek. This experience provides an opportunity to observe these primates in their natural habitat. Upon locating the chimpanzees, you will have the opportunity to observe them for one hour.

In the afternoon, engage in a walk through the Bigodi community and connect with the local residents. Experience preparing coffee, banana beer, basketry, and hear from the medicine man about how he treats various illnesses.

Day 7: Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Following the thrilling encounter with the chimpanzees in their natural environment, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, traversing the Crater Lakes region and taking in the stunning vistas of the Rwenzori Mountain ranges. The vehicle is tailored for game viewing, allowing you to appreciate the diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and Uganda kobs, among others.

In the afternoon, participate in a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, leading to Lake Edward, where you can observe various animals along the banks and a diverse array of bird species. Experience an evening game drive in the park, followed by a night drive as you observe the nocturnal wildlife.

Day 9: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Depart after breakfast for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park hosts a variety of bird species, butterflies, primates, and mammals. The journey offers a picturesque view of the terraced hills in the Kigezi highlands. The local community meticulously terraces these hills in preparation for planting potatoes in their gardens.

Day 10: Gorilla trekking at Bwindi

Embark on an expedition through the dense forest to observe the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Initially, you will receive a briefing from the ranger guide. Subsequently, you will be assigned a gorilla family to monitor, and you will collaborate with other individuals in this group. Some gorilla groups’ trailheads are farther from where the briefing is held, so you will drive you to the starting place.

Experience the day in the dense forest, where you will have a maximum of one hour with the gorillas once they are located. Please maintain a respectful level of silence while observing them.

Day 11: Tracking Golden Monkeys in Mgahinga National Park

In Mgahinga National Park, you will do golden monkey tracking, which begins in the morning and follows the same regulations as mountain gorilla trekking and chimpanzee viewing.

The trailhead for certain groups is located away from the briefing point; therefore, your will drive to the starting location. Day 12: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park

This morning, following breakfast, you will proceed to the serene Lake Mburo National Park, recognized as the smallest of the savannah national parks in Uganda. Consider a stopover at the Igongo Museum for lunch, followed by a visit to the Ankole cultural museum.

Please proceed to your lodge for check-in, and subsequently return to the park for an evening nature walk. A two-hour walk will be conducted with a ranger guide who will provide in-depth insights into the park and its wildlife.

Get an early morning experience in milking cows from a cattle kraal located near the park. Please return to the lodge for breakfast and proceed with the check-out process.
